Pinewood Derby Eligibility and Awards

Cub Scout Eligibility
Any Cub Scout in Pack 27, includes Tigers, Wolfs, Bears, and Webelos1.  Since the Arrow of Light ceremony, the Webelos2 den scouts are now Boy Scouts and are not eligible as Cub Scouts.

Sibling Eligibility
Any brother or sister of a Pack 27 cub scout is eligible in this category.  This includes both younger and older, brothers and sisters.  Boy Scouts are eligible in this category.

Future Cub Scout Eligibility
Any boy interested in joining Cub Scouts.  This used to be ‘Future Tigers’.  Most of the boys in this category will be current kindergartners that will be Tiger Scouts next fall.  But any boy that is interested in joining scouting will participate in this category.

There is no ‘Open Division’.

Cub Scout Awards
The plan is that each Cub Scout will receive a Pinewood Derby Segment (small arc shaped patch).
There will be trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall.
There will be medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for each den (Tigers, Wolfs, Bears, Webelos1).  Winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall are not eligible to also win a den medal.
There are 4 special trophies that Cub Scouts can win; a Scout can win at most one of these trophies.
Scout Choice Trophy – Cub Scouts will vote for their favorite.
Scout Spirit Trophy – Den Leaders and Committee Members decide on which car design best shows the spirit of Cub Scouting.
Most Unique Trophy - Den Leaders and Committee Members decide on which car design is the most unique.
Creative Construction Trophy – Den Leaders and Committee Members decide on which car design is the most creative in construction.

Sibling Awards
There will be medals for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.

Future Cub Scout Awards
Each Future Scout may receive a Pinewood Derby Segment (small arc shaped patch).
There will be medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd within the Future Scouts.
