Kirkwood Cub College

The Kirkwood Cub College is just around the corner on Saturday September 20th.  This will be a great event to jump start your program year and get your Scouts heading down the advancement trail.  We hope that you will all come out and join us for this great day.  I have attached the registration forms and achievement list that we will be working on for each rank.  To sign up for the event please contact the Scout Office and sign up the total number of Cubs per rank you will have.  The fee for the day will be $7 which does include lunch.  The fee for adults is $3.

More Details on the Freedom Festival Parade

Here is diagram of the Kirkwood Community College grounds and parade route. The parade is 9am and those marching in the parade need to be at the staging area at 8am. Remember to where your Class “A” uniform for the parade. If you plan to attend, please contact Karla Fisher (k.fischer@msn.com).

Freedom Festival Celebration of Community Parade Aug 30th 9am

Freedom Fesitval Parade Aug 30 9am

Please try to attend the rescheduling of the parade.  We will be walking in Class “A” uniform and sporting our new banner.

 The themes is ”Hold on Tight to Your Dreams”

Line up starts at 8:00 am. We will have a contact person for our pack (If you’re interested in being the key parade contact please contact k.fischer@msn.com) and also there will be persons wearing light yellow t-shirts to assist with staging.

There will be lots of things to do following the parade so make a family day of it!

Bear Resident Camp 08

Oh where, oh where has the summertime gone…it’s the middle of July and Bear Resident Camp is just around the corner. Below is a link that takes you to the important information re. camp found on the Hawkeye Area Council web site. I don’t know what campsite we will be assigned to, but we will be grouped together.

Swim Party for Pack 27-July 29th 6:30pm-Noelridge

Tuesday July 29th, 2008 6:30pm-8:00 pm come and swim with your entire pack at Noelridge Pool, bring the entire family for this event. If you don’t have a season pass to the pool Pack 27 will reimburse your entrance fee, just remit your receipt to Karla Fischer. The fun will begin at 6:30 so bring your pool toys. July 22 - 25 - Tuesday thru Friday - Fish Iowa! Day Camp 9:00 a.m. - Noon at Pinicon Ridge Park near Central City Learn about habitat, tackle, knots, rods, reels and more. Of course, we’ll also go fishing! The fee includes snacks and camp materials. Class size is limited. Many scout fishing badge requirements are met. Registration deadline is July 18. Learn how to catch more fish. Come out and reel in the fun. Student’s ages 8 - 14 will learn about fish and water. Cost: $40 per child. July 29 - 31 - Tuesday thru Thursday - Songbird Day Camp 9:00 a.m. - Noon at Wickiup Hill

Hog Wild Days Parade

To all who are participating 2008 Hog Wild Days Parade Saturday June 21st information:

1) No (zero) [$0.00] Admission fees !!! This means it’s free.

2) Meeting location is on Robins Road just north of Center Point Road intersection.

3) Be there at least 1 hour before the start time (10:30 Saturday, 1:30 if Sunday(rain date) so that information about your group or presentation can be collected and a place in line assigned.

4) Entries considered to be inappropriate for this family event will be asked to stand aside and will not be allowed to march. Judgment is at the discretion of the Parade coordinators and the Hiawatha Lions Club.

2008 Pack 27 Campout

Just a quick reminder that the Pack 27 Overnight Campout is May 31 - Jun 1.

Camp Location: Camp Wakonda at the Howard H Cherry Scout Reservation (Directions).

Departing Information: Meet at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton at 9:45 for a 10am departure on May 31st.

Return Information: Depart from Camp Wakonda by 9:30am Sunday June 1st.
